Every great store has a story. Ours has a dog.
Bowes is a lean, athletic hound mix with a wheaten-red coat, a long noble muzzle, and the kind of face that makes strangers stop mid-stride to say hello. He belongs to Alyssa — her doggo, her shadow, her self-appointed neighborhood watch captain. He takes his protective duties very seriously. The napping duties too.
Bowes is, by all accounts, a big baby in the best possible way. Friendly to everyone, fiercely loyal to Alyssa, and deeply committed to three things in life: naps, treats, and toys.
It was watching Bowes — the joy he brings, the love he gives, the absolute destruction he inflicts on a lesser-quality tug toy — that inspired the creation of Doggo Dream Shop. If dogs like Bowes are going to demand the best, we figured we'd better find it for them.
The Bowes Approved Standard
Not everything makes the cut around here.
When a product earns the Bowes Approved badge, it means it's passed the highest standard we know: it's the kind of thing we'd actually give Bowes. Durable enough to survive a real dog. Safe enough to feel good about. Good enough that he'd choose it over the couch cushion.
(He still chooses the couch cushion sometimes. We're working on it.)
Bowes & Luna: Best Doggo Friends
Some friendships are built on trust, loyalty, and mutual respect. Bowes and Luna's friendship is built on tug toys and the unspoken agreement that neither one is ever letting go first.
That's Bowes on the right — going head-to-head with his best friend Luna over a Seatbelt Quad Flopper Tug Toy. Bowes Approved, obviously. Luna had no complaints either.
Luna was also the very first official member of Bowes Buddies — our growing community of dogs (and the humans who love them) who are living their best doggo lives.
